Madam, I recently purchased The old Walter Scott Blue Coat School (formerly the auction rooms) in Old Gloucester Road and after many years of neglect I am trying to return the building to something of its former glory.
In order to do so it would be useful to have any information, drawings or pictures of the building both inside and out as this will be both very interesting but also provide a valuable insight into its original layout and features that will help in its restoration.
I would be pleased to hear from anybody that has any information on the building and its history and will copy and return any original pictures or information provided. Please email: [email protected]">[email protected]
Many thanks in advance for any help provided.

Liberal MEP celebration
Madam, The article 'Liz Lynne Celebrates' in your June 10th edition, about our Liberal Democrat MEP, has got me thinking. It seems to suggest that the Lib Dems did well in the European elections here - having looked at the numbers myself, nothing could be further from the truth!
In Herefordshire the Lib Dems got just 7,165 votes, compared to 16,336 votes for the Conservatives and 11,710 votes for UKIP. Everyone expected the collapse of Labour, who came fifth (!) here, but who would have thought the Lib Dems would come third in Herefordshire where they have an MP?
In fact, the Lib Dems 7,165 votes (14.6% of the vote) is lower than they managed in the 2004 European Election - 8,908 (17.9%). Their share of the vote has dropped by 3.3% - doesn't seem to me that Liz Lynne has much to be celebrating about!
