A group of seven local mums, who met while their children were at Goodrich Primary School, will be taking part in the London Moonwalk on May 13th, where they will walk a Marathon distance, 26.2 miles, to raise funds for Breast Cancer Research.

During the London Moonwalk, thousands of people take to the streets of England’s Capital City, walking in decorated bras. While this may not be a normal sight for a Saturday night in London, it is a vision to behold and one that succeeds in not only raising awareness but millions of pounds for walkthewalk, a breast cancer charity.

The group, who call themselves the Wye Mooners, consists of Angela Crofts, Jane Marfell, Deb Cronshaw, Elaine Leney, Carol Jones, Cathy Chivers and Fanny Rollinson. They all know someone who has been touched by cancer and have received fantastic support, which has spurred them on to do their part to help.

The Wye Mooners will walk through the night, and they anticipate the challenge will take them approximately seven hours. They have decorated their bras with a 1920s theme and are hoping local residents will support them in their challenge.

If you would like to sponsor the Wye Mooners for their challenge, please visit their donation webpage, or there is a collection box at the Saracens Head Inn at Symonds Yat East, near Ross-on-Wye.
