The Emergency services were called to Maple Barn in Fownhope this afternoon (Wednesday, July 6th) to reports of a road traffic collision on the B4224, involving three vehicles.
A spokesperson for the West Midlands Ambulance Service told the Ross Gazette that they were called at 1.46pm and three patients were treated. They added that upon the ambulance’s arrival, one of the casualties was still in one of the vehicles. They added that they were not trapped as such, but there was no space to them to get out, based on how the cars had come to rest.
One person has been taken to Hereford County Hospital.Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service were also called to the scene at 2.13pm. Two fire engines from Hereford Fire Station attended. By the time they arrived the casualty was no longer trapped. The fire service personnel made the vehicles safe.The police were also in attendance. A spokesperson for West Mercia Police told the Ross Gazette that they were called just before 1.50pm. He said that the crash had been classified as a minor injury road collision. The vehicles involved were: a grey Mitsubishi Colt, a blue Renault Clio and a blue Volkswagen Tiguan. They added that a fourth vehicle appeared to have been involved, although it was not damaged. This was a Mercedes mini-bus. The road is open, and traffic is not thought to be affected by the incident any longer.
