Madam, How can we let the Herefordshire County Council dictate how Ross runs its Tourist Information service, first we had the ridiculous proposal of having the TIC at Ross Labels, which was withdrawn, now we have a further cost saving idea of amalgamating the Heritage Centre and the TIC. This latest idea has no real merit as both the TIC and the Heritage Centre would then provide a reduced service. We have very few tourist attractions left in Ross, with the Heritage Centre doing a wonderful job with very limited space. If we allow the two services to be 'shoehorned' together we risk destroying both.

Why doesn't the Town Council take some responsibility for a change and ensure that both services are fully preserved. I'm sure that alternative accommodation can be found for the TIC, there are a vast number of empty shops in Ross surely one could be utilised at a reasonable cost, if Swan House is too expensive.

Perhaps its not too late to consider having the TIC as part of the changes being considered for the Library. Can we please realise that tourism is a major part of the Ross economy and stop trying to get an effective service on the cheap.
