Madam, Yet again the citizens of Ross have been treated shamelessly by their elected representatives, be they County or Town Councillors. The important TIC and Info centre service changes have been allowed to stagnate until the non-proposals for their future have become a "Fait accompli".
It is becoming apparent that the imminent closure of both the services, based at Swan House, will result in a totally unconsulted imposition of an amalgamation of services into the Heritage Centre and the Library.
At this 11th hour vague details of the amalgamations are begrudgingly entering the public domain, who on earth do our representatives work for? Don't they owe some duty to inform their parishioners about impending changes to their services before they take place?
Other market towns Councils within Herefordshire appear to be taking the situation seriously and taking practical steps to retain effective services in their areas. What is Ross Town Council proposing to do about the TIC and Info Centre changes? They have been fully aware of the need for the changes for some considerable time but do not appear to have shown any initiative in bringing about an acceptable solution.
