The team at Top Cutz Ross raised £1014.58 for the Friends of Ross Hospital, through their fund raising efforts on the day of the Carnival, on August 6th.
The Top Cutz fundraising team consisted of Meloney Hurrell, Robert Reed, Jo Hodges, James Hodges, Jessica Lewis, Lisa South, Coral Richards and Dannie Harris. The group entered a float in the carnival parade, to the theme of Alice in Wonderland, with a twist; additional characters, Edward Scissorhands and Queen Elizabeth II, joined the cast.
The team also raised funds at the Carnival Field at the Rope Walk. They put on a coconut shy, skittles, a tombola, a raffle, a bake sale, a ducking stall, and many other games, to delight visitors, and raise funds for the hospital.
Meloney Hurrell told the Ross Gazette that the team had decided to raise funds and support the Friends of Ross Hospital because they believe it is a good local charity, and the hospital is vital; something that every local resident should be able to use.
Jill Davies, Chair of the Friends of Ross Hospital, told the Ross Gazette that the group were very grateful for the funds raised.
