Madam, As Conservative Councillors and members of both the Conservative Association (Party) and the Conservative Club we would like to clarify our position in relation to the article which appeared in last week's Ross Gazette, May 18th.
David Ravenscroft has been a loyal and hardworking supporter of the local Party and a good friend to us personally. We, as prospective Conservative Councillors at that time, certainly did not seek, nor were consulted, in the decision to bar David from the Club.
We all acknowledge his contribution to the community in so many ways and in recognising that, those Conservative Councillors who sit on Ross Town Council voted unanimously for his selection as Mayor for the coming year.
