Last week, the Ross Gazette reported that a Ross-on-Wye Town Councillor, Jo Jennings, has announced that she will abstain from Council meetings for six months, in protest of aftermath of the Mayor’s appearance on Parking Wars.
Since then, the Mayor has issued a statement, apologising for any distress caused by his actions, and Cllr Jennings has announced that she will resume her duties as a Town Councillor.
In her letter to the editor of the Ross Gazette, Cllr Jennings wrote:
"I understand that our Mayor has made his apologies. Ross now needs reconciliation. There must be neither winners nor losers. We must look to the future and focus on what good we can do for our town. I intend to resume my duties as Councillor very shortly and in a spirit of conciliation."
