Traffic is currently very heavy on the A40 dual carriageway, heading from Ross-on-Wye to Monmouth.

A black Honda was involved in a road traffic collision just past the traffic lights by the Wye Bridge in Monmouth, and so traffic is currently backed up towards the Symonds Yat exit.

UPDATE

Gwent Police have confirmed that they received a call at 7.09am this morning, regarding a two vehicle RTC on the A40, before the tunnels, heading southbound.

The vehicles involved were a lorry and a Honda CR-V. No injuries were sustained.

The road has now been cleared, and traffic is moving steadily.
