The travellers have now left the land at Ross Sports Club.

They were served an eviction notice yesterday, after the directors who run the Sports Club were forced to pay for bailiffs to issue a notice to leave, which was given to the travellers at 3pm yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon. This came after the travellers ignored an enforcement notice from Herefordshire Council, which the Sports Centre had paid £300 for.

The travellers left the land last night.

Dawleys, a business based in Ross-on-Wye have offered to pay for the fee for Herefordshire Council’s enforcement notice. This gesture was greatly appreciated by the Sports Club as the cost, added to the recent vandalism, had made things very difficult for the CIC.

A Ross-on-Wye Town Councillor, Daniel Lister, also lent a hand in helping the Sports Club deal with the aftermath of the travellers. He helped the members of the club to collect many bin bags of litter which had been left by the travellers.
