Following an inquiry from the Ross Gazette, Balfour Beatty Living Places confirmed that they removed the dead tree on Broad Street, as they said it posed a safety threat to the public.
The remaining area where the tree was planted has been inspected by the Locality Steward who has proposed works following a thorough assessment. This included removing the original metal guard frame around the tree base.
A spokesperson for Balfour Beatty told the Ross Gazette:?“We are currently considering the best way to restore the area and are due to discuss this with the town council at the earliest opportunity.
“We will shortly be planting another tree close to the location of the first tree.”
