MADAM, today Ross mourns the loss of a good and trusted friend.
His quiet, kindly manner gave comfort to those who brought problems to him in confidence, and the reassuring knowledge that he would do his best for them.
He served our town well, both as councillor and mayor in the past, and was liked and respected by many.
Latterly, though in failing health, he never lost his interest in, or concern for our town and its community – and will be remembered by those of us proud to be counted among his friends and acquaintances.
So saying, we now bid him farewell, and wish him a well earned rest in the halls of memory.
