Madam, I must take issue with David Powell's letter to you last week. The trustees of The Chestnuts did not 'decide to close the home'(giving the impression it was done on a whim!). The trustees were left with no other choice, given the impossible financial situation they were put in by Herefordshire Council. To try to deflect the blame for this sad closure onto the trustees is a typical piece of skullduggery from Herefordshire Council.

The building is now up for sale for development. That says it all.
