Two-year-old bearded collie Heleview Harmony, owned by local breeder, Joyce Burford, won her class, and best of breed at the Monmouth Show recently.
Heleview Harmony, whose pet name is Twiggy was awarded Pastoral group two. She also gained the final points for the Kennel Club Show Certificate of Merit.
Joyce, who lives at Pencraig, has owned bearded collies for 30 years and most of her dogs have qualified for Crufts during that time. Many have been placed at Crufts and Joyce also has the Kennel Club stud book number.
Twiggy has already achieved a great deal. She was awarded Reserve at Crufts this year and has been placed first in puppy, junior and yearling classes at championship shows. Her father won Best of Breed at Crufts in 2015 and her sister has also been doing well at shows. Joyce is hopeful that Twiggy will go one better at Crufts next year.
To qualify for a Show Certificate of Merit Twiggy had to get all best of breed at open level and achieve 25 points. She got her final point at Monmouth Show.
