Ross Hockey Club first XI were the guests this weekend as they prepared to face Leominster A, both teams raring to go, with victory in mind.
Ross took the first push back, and it soon became obvious that it wasn't going to be easy for Leominster, as attacker Phil Evans showed with an early strike at goal. The home team defended well managing to keep it out of the net.
It was not long before Tom Walton was on a drive. He took the ball into the Leominster 'D' and scored an early goal for Ross. As the opposition retaliated, the defenders Rich Jennison, Tony Faulkner, Dave Skyrme, Luke Ward and Brian Clare, remained unbreakable.
Well into the first half, the Ross midfield, Tom Walton, Sam Warner, Nick Clark, Kristian Franklin and Matt Saunders, stepped up the pressure on the Leominster defence, allowing attacker Adrian Williams to get away and claim his first goal.
