MADAM, I write to wholeheartedly endorse the content of Mr Dewar's letter, published in the Ross Gazette of October 20th.

I too have issued a formal complaint to the County Commissioner as to the management of the matter by Ross District. My son and I would like to see Jenny and Lisa back leading the colony, which they did with such wisdom and enthusiasm.

The interest of the boys has been disregarded and parents treated with contempt. I currently have an extremely upset six-year-old who aspired to be a part of the bonfire parade and Christmas parade since he was three years old – sadly, an aspiration that will not be fulfilled.

H Duberley, Ross

Editor's note: The Ross Gazette contacted the Scout Association to ask for clarification on the matter of Jenny Bundy's apparent dismissal as leader of the Ross Beaver colony. As the newspaper went to press, the Scouts' Assistant Director Simon Carter issued the following statement: "Scouting in this part of the county is currently being restructured to ensure the structures in place best support the needs of the local community. As part of this work, the roles of those supporting Scouting at a district level are being reviewed. The matter is being managed by our local management team. This review is ongoing." The Gazette has asked the Scouting Association for details of its restructuring plan, and will report on them in a future edition of the newspaper
