A Christmas tree was stolen from outside Ross Old Books on Monday night, sometime after 11.30pm.

It was one of four trees decorated with lights and in snatching the tree the lights decorating them were broken off. Chris and Carol Lowndes said they had spent quite a bit of money in an effort "to jolly up the corner," and the lights had been up less than a week. They said that 55 trees had been bought by ART (the Ross Traders' group) and it was very upsetting when they were making an effort to brighten up the town.
