The Vicar of St Mary’s Church, Ross-on-Wye, Reverend Sarah Jones is currently on tour in New Zealand.
As well as playing her own folk-inspired music, she will be talking about her experiences as Britain’s first ordained transgender priest.
Sarah, who was born a boy, and was married before divorcing and changing gender, is in New Zealand to talk about God and sexuality, and to tour her music at folk venues and churches.
Although she would rather keep her private life quiet she understands that talking about her experiences can help others.
There was a storm of publicity when the news broke that Sarah is transgender but she received great support fron the local community.
Sarah believes that the church, and all religions need to be more inclusive. Meanwhile, appreciation of her music continues to grow and her songs have been recorded by local and national performers alike.
