Talented Ross athlete, Vanessa Brann aged 16, was the first woman home in the 5km Road Race held in conjunction with the European Cross Country Championships in Brussels on Sunday, December 14th.

Vanessa, a student at the John Kyrle High School, has recently moved to Bristol & West Athletics Club to help further her career. Her fine achievements have revealed a constant improvement throughout this season.

She came in fourth place in the BMC Cross Country championships at Bristol on November 24th.

Vanessa took part in the McCain UK Cross Challenge Sefton Park, Liverpool, inc European Championship trials and ran against all the UK top class Cross Country runners including Emily Pidgeon who came 4th in the European Championships in Brussels on Sunday.

Vanessa is currently the Herefordshire Women's Cross Country Champion and she came third at Taunton in the West region cross country relays October 26th.
