It will be 70 years on Saturday, August 15th since Japan surrendered and the war in the Far East ended.
The Ross Branch of the Royal British Legion will be holding an event by the Bandstand in Wye Street from 4pm which will culminate with the lighting of the beacon (to coincide with the National Event) by the Mayor Cllr Colin Gray in the Prospect around 9pm.
All are welcome to attend this FREE event at the Riverside and will be able to watch the beacon being lit from there.
There will be live music all evening, a barbeque, doughnuts, hot chocolate and lots of other things to see and do. Music will be provided by Acoustic Rabble and Rose & Christie Arthur.
