The President of the Ross Action Bus, Rosemary Rigby, is once again appealing for volunteer drivers and companions. Volunteers will help to ensure that regular visitors to the Lunch Club in Ross-on-Wye can continue to get there in the new year.

The Ross Lunch Club takes place every Friday at the Larruperz Centre and the Ross Action Bus is called into use to collect local residents who wish to attend.

However, when the Club finishes for the Christmas break, the Action Bus may not be able to continue to transport all of the guests, unless Rosemary can find volunteers to take on the roles in January, 2019.

Rosemary told the Ross Gazette:?“I want all of those people who rely on the Lunch Club, not just for a delicious hot, home cooked meal, but for companionship and a chance to catch up with local news, not to worry. Everything I can do will be done.”

She said:?“I have to replace the wonderful hardworking volunteers who have done such a great job for such a long time.

“I need drivers and people who are willing to help serve meals, sit and chat with guests, and ensure everyone is having a good time. These people do not have to be able to drive, in fact they could join us at the Larruperz Centre if that is easier.

“The volunteers would be welcome to enjoy lunch too.”

And although the Lunch Club runs every Friday, Rosemary is also hoping that volunteers might also offer to help more regularly, perhaps on a fortnightly or monthly basis.

Some guests are also brought to the Larruperz Centre by private cars, so if there are any volunteers who could take on this role Rosemary would be pleased to hear from you.
