Naomi, Jessica and Jessie from Class 4 Goodrich C E Primary School, walked up to the war memorial at 10am on Friday, November 6th.

They had volunteered to assist Mr Cripwell and Mike to clean up the war memorial in readiness for Sunday's service. The children said:?"Mr Cripwell talked to us about what the black names symbolise and what the gold words symobolise (on the war memorial) and why we remember. We also talked about why the poppy is the symbol of remembrance and we took some crayon-rubbings of the memorial names. When we returned we made a display for the school foyer.

"We really enjoyed our morning. Many thanks to Mr Cripwell and Mike.'
