Councillor Andrew Atkinson has organised teams of community volunteers, including local farmer Ben Taylor-Davies, who arrived at Ross riverside on his tractor on Bank Holiday Monday to cut the grass on all the public areas. John Kyrle High School has started cutting the verges on Ledbury Road outside their entrance, a local man, Mr Hadyn has hired a mower to cut Roman Way play park and Ross Lions Club member, Daniel Lister has also offered his help to strim verges on the entrance to the town.

Cllr Atkinson said:?"I fully understand the council's financial situation and can see that in my ward the Town Council will be taking over some areas and local people like me can do some verges outside their homes if they are happy to.
