Ross Leg Club is a well established organisation run by volunteers to provide a social outlet for people in the area suffering with any type of leg condition. The Club held their Annual General Meeting on Thursday, January 30th.
The Chairperson, Pauline Kent thanked everyone who attended the meeting and all those who ensure the Club continues to help around 25 people every week.
Pauline said that the Club is continuing to provide a really good service to the community and this is thanks to the District Nurses and their team for their hard work and expertise in treating and healing many wounds, giving advice and support to the members.
She also thanked all the committee members who carry out tasks ranging from organising waste disposal to filing.
Fundraising has also become very important as costs are increasing and Pauline told the Ross Gazette the club is not funded by the NHS.
The club meets every Thursday at Henry Street Evangelical Church in Ross-on-Wye between 10am and 12.30pm, many members are referred by GPs but no appointments are necessary as it is run on a drop in basis.
The meeting was followed by refreshments prepared by Liz and Reg.See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
