MADAM, As a keen reader of the Ross Gazette and also a frustrated Broadband user in the area I wonder if you would be interested in encouraging other readers to vote in the BT race to infinity at http://www.racetoinfinity.bt.com/">http://www.racetoinfinity.bt.com/
The lowdown is that BT has opened up a voting system for exchanges in the UK to be upgraded to fibre (super-fast internet). Users such as myself who regularly want to work from home would now be able to do so if we win (only the top five get confirmed nationally).
The competition doesn't just benefit BT, but all of the service providers such as Talk Talk, Virgin, Sky etc.
I think that the Ross community should club together and vote for what we need in today's world and your paper would be a brilliant way of making people aware.
The competition closes at the end of December and the procedure itself only takes a minute at most and if enough of us vote we could be experiencing greatly increased speeds in 2012.
