A young up-and-coming star of ballet from Ross has been selected to join the English Youth Ballet in performances of Giselle at the New Theatre in Cardiff, on?July 25th and 26th.

Ten year old Millie Salter, who attends Walford Primary School, was selected in an audition from over 200 young hopefuls. In the audition, the children were put through their paces by some of the top ballerinas in the country for an hour and a half, on stage, in front of their parents, before the EYB selected the winner.

Millie's dad, Mark Salter, told the Ross Gazette: "Eventually they dwindled it down to who they wanted and we found out that she was selected on the day.

"Millie's absolutely chuffed to bits. The one thing she loves is dancing. She is a quiet girl but put her on the stage she comes into her own."
