The Walford cubs, families and leaders successfully navigated their way to the top of Symonds Yat recently raising an amazing £525 for Cancer Research UK.

The 20-strong group made the hard and steep climb to the top of Symonds Yat Rock where they were greeted with creamy hot chocolate and biscuits. Whilst at the top, the Cubs had some energy left to participate in numerous physical and enjoyable games before making their descent.

The well attended Cub group, who meet at Goodrich Village Hall on a Tuesday evening at 6.15pm regularly, enjoy a wide range of activities, weekend camps and charity events.

Akela Cathy Jones said that "the cubs themselves came up with the idea of the sponsored walk and donating their significant amount of money to Cancer Research UK which affects so many people including the Cubs themselves and their families. We are all so very proud of our cubs who continue to prove that they do their best”.
