The last of Ross-on-Wye & District Cycling Club's evening 10 mile time trials, the Handicap '1O' was held on a very wet and dim Thursday evening on the Walford course. Even in those conditions nine competitors started, as they were chasing the points for the season-long competition, but one had to retire when his bicycle decided that it didn't wish to continue in the rain.

The winner was Will Bevan with 24 minutes and 17 seconds with Sam Walker next with 24.25 then came Paul Stephens, 25.36, James Wilson, 27.27, Tony Price, 29.20, Graham Carter, 29.48, Bill Reay, 31.57.

The only lady, Mary Middleton came home with a time of 34.31 which gave her a commanding lead in the Ladies section of the Points Competition.

The Handicap result saw a reversal of the first two places on actual time with Sam Walker having a time of 21.10 and Will Bevan being 30 seconds slower.

James Wilson who finished fourth on actual time moved up to take third in the handicap section.

This week the meeting place is the car park adjoining the Bishopswood Parish HalI at Kerne Bridge on Thursday, August 26th.

The race starts at 7pm so allow time to ride to the starting place for the 'Long Hillclimb'. This starts at the foot of Catshill and finishes at the top of Ruardean.
