Madam, Travelling on the bus on Saturday I heard some disturbing news and went to check it out myself as well as ask questions of members of Ross-in-Bloom to get my facts sorted out before I wrote to the paper.
Once again in Pig's Alley, a member of the mindless minority decided to ruin the work of a group of tireless volunteers by attacking and breaking one of the splendid pigs adorning the newly painted walls.
It took so much force that this time evidence was left behind - a large footprint on the painted pig. The police have taken a print of this and the broken pig has also been taken away for testing.
In previous letters from Mr Bundy July 21st and 28th, he objected to wording used in your articles. He said previous damage in Pig's Alley should not be attributed to vandals. Does he consider this latest act to be the work of responsible people?
Wanton destruction of property that does not belong to you is vandalism.
If Mr Bundy feels so strongly that the perpetrators concerned need help and consideration perhaps he would like to wait in Pig's Alley every night so he can chat to these individuals and show them the error of their ways.
If that doesn't appeal to him maybe he would prefer to visit the John Kyrle Club and explain his views to the very upset members there. Even better perhaps he should consider joining the group of pensioners who did the work and see how it feels to have all his unpaid efforts spoiled.
Keep up all your good work Ross-in-Bloom – the majority of us in Ross really appreciate all your hard work.
Karen Beck, Ross
