A sharp shower of rain failed to put a dampner on the Carnival procession on Saturday as it took place in wonderful sunshine. Hundreds of people packed the streets of Ross to watch the fantastic entries. These included Fun-2-Sea Nursery which replicated their entry of 10 years ago to celebrate their 10th anniversary.

The residents of Woodedge put their entry together in less than three weeks after Emma Bishop was pursuaded by her brother, a member of the committee, to have a go. They spent ages constructing the castle which featured on their Disney float. Local Conservatives became 'true blues' as they dressed as Con'smuf'atives and members of staff at the Premier Inn dressed up and took part to raise funds for their charity, Great Ormand Street Hospital.

Carnival Princess Ebony Scotford was accompanied by her attendants and even gave the Mayor and Mayoress of Ross a lift as they neared the Carnival field. For more pictures see this week's Ross Gazette or click on Buy Photos.
