Madam, Reading the letter in the March 2nd newspaper from Gareth Nutt, I feel obliged to counter one of his statements. He wrote that 'Mr Norman's position was characterized by a deafening silence and a blatant disregard for those constituents seeking his views.'
I too emailed Mr. Norman to voice my horror at the proposed sell-off of our nation's forests. I received a very prompt reply from him, addressed to me personally, and signed by him. His tone throughout the letter was polite and he stated his views with clarity. He encouraged me to take part in the Forestry Commission public consultation on the management of English forests, providing me with the web link to do so.
While I may not always agree with our MP's views and actions, in this matter I have to give him full marks for manners.
Rachel Wales, Ross
