After the disappointment of losing their first league match of the season to Soudley 2 – 1, Weston Athletic bounced back to record two wins in the last week in the North Glouc Division 2.

On Wednesday night Weston beat a strong Harrow Hill Reserves side 3 – 1, with goals coming from Eli Wooding (2) and Wes Downing, a much better all round display was slightly marred by a bad head injury to Chalky Robertshaw which will keep him out of action for a few weeks, TR Yates Man of the Match went to Stuart Smith.

On Saturday Weston won their second game of the week against a physical Lydbrook side with a comprehensive 3 – 1 victory.

Manager Eli Wooding went into the game with seven first team regulars missing due to injury and suspension, a reshuffled back line saw injured striker Dave Nicholls playing in goal and Wes Downing playing the sweeper role.
