On Saturday Weston Athletic were crowned North Gloucestershire league division 3 champions with a comprehensive 8 – 1 home victory against fourth placed Sling United. Weston were again helped on their way with a hat trick by Eli Wooding, further goals coming from Dave Nicholls, Paul Burnham, Shane Puggle, Wayne Husbands and an own goal.
Weston have their final two games of the season at home this week, Wednesday night kick off at 6.30 and then Saturday at 2.30 where they will be presented with the league winners trophy. If they can avoid defeat in these last two games then they willhave gone the whole season without losing a league game. Everyone is welcome to come along on Saturday to show support.
