Dear Editor,
My family are very upset that silk flowers are now not allowed in Walford churchyard. Having visited on Thursday, October 1st and finding them all removed was very heartbreaking to see.
The reason we use silk flowers is because rabbits eat them (fresh flowers) overnight and make the grave look so untidy and uncared for. The other thing that upset us was seeing all the ornaments from other graves, some of them children’s, all removed and piled up at far end of the churchyard, imagine how upsetting this must be for a grieving parent to find this has happened.
I know a notice was put up to inform people that this would happen, but not everyone lives close by and are unable to get there very often.
I cannot believe that the Church can act in such a cruel and heartless way, but it appears nothing is sacred anymore
