Dear Editor

Having recently driven through the Forest of Dean, I saw miles of grass verges torn up by the efforts of the wild boar, ruining the natural beauty of the forest as well as destroying the vegetation.

I go walking in different parts of the Forest and its surroundings and see that the boar are spreading out.

As the boar have no natural predators it is only sensible to have them culled to maintain a healthy population.

The number should be reduced to about 400 with regular counts being taken.  Those who feed them should be prosecuted as feeding the boar is illegal.
