OVER the past two years the local branch of Herefordshire Wildlife Trust has put on topical and local talks programmes for its members which are well attended and popular.

It has also run several well attended wildlife gardening workshops to encourage wild patches in back gardens.

The team have gone into primary schools in the Ross-on-Wye area and engaged over 600 students in the natural world, always leaving them with a project to do.

It has also run creative sessions at John Kyrle High School for years eight and nine.

Over time the Ross branch team has developed into a cohesive group of passionate and active people who have expanded the horizons of the trust in South Herefordshire.

But now the Ross branch of the Herefordshire Wildlife Trust has some vacancies.

The current team has built the remit of the local branch from a series of talks into activities and events covering the worlds of gardening, education and beyond.

The team is keen to continue this development and would love to hear from likeminded and enthusiastic people who might take the branch forward.

In order to continue the good works that the trust have developed recently it is looking for people to fill various roles and would be very happy to give training and support for anybody stepping forward to help.

The roles are: team leader; events co-ordinator and treasurer. The team leader sets the tone and direction of the branch and its activities. The treasurer is responsible for taking care of the monies coming in and going out as well as reporting the state of finances to the team and the regional staff with an annual report.

The events co-ordinator ensures that the events programme is relevant and attractive for the local membership.

if you are interested in taking on a role contact the trust at [email protected].
