A retail impact assessment by Deloitte, commissioned by Herefordshire Council, has expressed concerns about the "continued vitality and viability" of Ross town centre if a proposed Tesco store is built at Overross Street.
And now the Association of Ross Traders, ART, has included the issue on the agenda of their forthcoming meeting on Tuesday, January 21st.
Originally the members of ART decided that they would not take a united stance, either for or against the proposal for the store. Instead it was decided that members would be free to support or object to the planning application as individuals, as they saw fit.
However following the publication of the detailed report by Deloitte and a report issued on behalf of Tesco refuting Deloitte's findings, the issue is back on the table for discussion by ART.
The Chairman of ART, Colin Leggate has written to all the members urging them to attend the meeting next Tuesday. He asks them to study the documents from Tesco and Deloitte before the meeting at the EnviroAbility office in Palma Court, Brookend Street at 6pm.
