A RURAL church could soon have an eco-friendly toilet in its churchyard, if planners give the green light.
The parish council of the Grade II-listed All Saints at Perrystone Hill, Yatton, have applied to site the fully accessible composting toilet in a shed and to build an access footpath to it.
Built in 1841, the church is four miles from Ross, half a mile west of the A449, and surrounded by fields.
The application to Herefordshire Council planners says: "The PCC is now applying for the creation of an accessible path that links the existing path to the shed and the conversion of the shed into acomposting toilet with associated drainage."
The path will be made from recycled tarmac "to reduce waste and conserve scarce resources" and like the loo will be fully wheelchair accessible.
