A cockatoo which has been spotted many times in the Wilton area of Ross-on-Wye over recent weeks, has been captured and is now back at his home in Wales.

Two local parrot enthusiasts spent weeks tracking the bird and trying to tempt him into a cage, but the final result was thanks to a team effort.

One person supplied a zoom lens camera, another loaned a cage and the Parrot Society was able to trace the owner once Vine Tree Vets, who were very helpful in handling the bird, had got its ring number. This picture was sent to the Gazette by a concerned resident, Dave Weller, who spotted it sitting on the TV aerial at Wilton Court.
