A woman driver died in a road traffic collision on the A449, The Old Gore, near Ross, on Saturday, May 29th.
At approximately 12:20pm, officers attended a collision which involved two cars, a Peugeot 206 and a Ford Focus.
As well as land ambulances the Midlands Air Ambulances attended the scene. There were also a number of off duty medical personnel who were passing and stopped to assist.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "On arrival at the scene, crews found two cars that had been in a significant collision.
"A woman, believed to be in her early 20s, who was driving the Peugeot 206, was seriously injured and taken by air ambulance to Selly Oak Hospital, Birmingham, with life-threatening injuries. However, she later died.
The three occupants in the other vehicle, a man and woman believed to be in their 50s and a boy believed to be around 14 years old, suffered multiple minor injuries.
They were transferred to Hereford County Hospital for further treatment for minor injuries and later discharged.
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "Officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and are appealing for any witnesses travelling on or in the vicinity of the A449 at that time to come forward."
