A while ago St Mary’s church appealed for volunteers to help maintain the churchyard and to supplement the amount of work the paid for contractors carry out on a regular basis. This group became known as the Churchyard Angels and is still operating today.
They have spent several days already this year working in the churchyard helping to strim grass and clear rubbish. Unfortunately one area has become very overgrown and, after receiving a couple of messages this week, the Reverend Sarah Jones said she is looking at getting a better plan of action in place.
However, the Churchyard Angels are meeting on Saturday, June 3rd and would welcome anyone who would like to help or join their working party. Rev Jones added, "All the Churchyard Angels have been doing a fantastic job and they could do even more if there were a few more of them, especially if a few younger men or women could come to help them."
