Several vehicles used by local traders in Ross-on-Wye were broken into during the weekend.
West Mercia Police has received four reports of vehicles being broken into overnight on June 11th - June 12th.
At the meeting of the Ross Town Council on Monday, June 12th Councillor Richard Mayo asked the local police officer what action is being taken by the police. He said there has been a high number of vans being broken into and he would like to see more high visibility patrols through the night.
The police officer said that there would be patrols but they had very limited resources, she said that often there are only two police officers on duty for the whole of the Ross-on-Wye area on a night shift.
Councillor Cutter said that break-ins to works vehicles has not only been happening on this weekend, he said; "it has been going on for a considerable time."
He added; "These thieves are not just taken thing, they are taking away someone’s means of making a living." He asked the police to take more action.
