In an effort to integrate more into the local community, the residents at the Ross branch of SHYPP (Supported Housing for Young People) have volunteered to take on the responsibility for the maintenence of the flower bed at Copse Cross Street.
Two weeks ago, Town Councillor Hannah Lerego and her daughter Olivia, spent four hours making the flower bed look lovely; they had to remove dead plants, weeds, rubbish, and lots of broken glass.
The young people at SHYPP have since come forward to keep the flower bed looking its best. They have also volunteered to keep the surrounding area looking good, by cleaning away dead leaves and litter.
On Thursday, September 10th, Cllr Lerego paid a visit to the Ross-on-Wye Foyer; in Herefordshire, SHYPP has three Foyers, one in Ross, one in Hereford and one in Leominster. SHYPP provides vulnerable young people between the ages of 16 and 25 with housing, support, training and employment opportunities
