A Herefordshire choir, made up of children from schools across the county, asked their music tutor if they could put on a concert for The Little Princess Trust because it was important to them to raise funds for children of their own age.

Choir director Rachael Toolan, also head of music at Hereford Cathedral Junior School, described her reaction when the kids came to her with their idea. “I was absolutely delighted when the children suggested that we did a concert to raise money and awareness for The Little Princess Trust. It is so important to them to help young people of their own age.”

Rachael set up the choir two years ago and it has grown to 45 young singers, aged seven to 14, from across Herefordshire schools. Pupils meet on Saturdays and come from locations around the region such as Hereford, Ledbury and Much Birch.

The singers rehearse every Saturday and their concert will be held at 7pm on Wednesday, June 28th at St John’s Church in St Owen Street, Hereford. Admission is free with a collection at the end for The Little Princess Trust, which provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children who suffer from hair loss due to cancer and other illnesses.
