EVER seen yourself as the Lord of your manor? Well, now is your chance as the Lordships of Peterstow and Much Birch are up for sale through Manorial Auctioneers of London.

Peterstow was one of three royal manors erected by King Henry I in about 1100 under the Barony of Wilton-on-Wye, and was held by Hugh de Longchamp. It was known by its Welsh name of Llanpetyr in those days and is first found as Petrestow in 1278.

The Lordship of Much Birch belonged to Roger de Lacy, an ancestor of Hugh de Lacy, who was created Earl of Ulster by King John at the beginning of the 13th Century.

Guy's Hospital acquired the Lordships in the 18th century and is now selling them with an offer price of £7,750 each. The new Lords and Ladies of these Manors will be able to use the titles on their passports, chequebooks, and credit cards, and they will be eligible for membership of the Manorial Society of Great Britain. The Society holds functions during the year, including an annual reception at the House of Lords.
