The Basement Youth Trust (BYT) in Ross-on-Wye is coming to a 'pinch point’, its organisers have warned.

At the Annual Review Meeting on Monday, April 28th, representatives for the youth charity thanked the Town Council for their £500 grant, but said that the charity 'cannot go on forever’ and is desperately in need of funding.

Since 1996, the BYT has been caring for young people. The aim of the BYT is to provide and maintain a youth centre to help and educate the young people living in and around Ross-on-Wye. Through this, the organisation tries to develop young people’s physical, mental, and spiritual capacities.

A spokesperson for the BYT said: "Let me challenge you - where do you see the future for your teenagers? What is the vision for youth leisure in the town? This charity is coming to a pinch point. We need money; we can’t go on forever without greater support from the community. Now is the time for the people of Ross-on-Wye to speak up and act up or we cannot promise how long we can go on."
