It was interesting to read last week that Herefordshire Council has appointed Matt Pearce as the new director of public heath with an apparently very impressive CV in public health and, with his appointment, allows Dr Rebecca Howell-Jones to return to her role as consultant in public health for Herefordshire Council.

If the new director is so exceptionally qualified in the public health field, why does the Council need a consultant as well? Sounds like a duplication of jobs to me and another example of Herefordshire Council wasting local taxpayers money.
