I have just seen the report in last week’s paper on how the council can’t afford to expand the resurfacing scheme (‘Resurfacing expansion struck down by council’, Gazette May 18).

Having just witnessed the road around Netherton farm being completely resurfaced when there was nothing at all wrong with it in the first place, I am sure that many residents living along the likes of Alton Road would welcome their roads to be resurfaced so they can drive their farm vehicles along in comfort.

If ever there was a waste of time and tax payers money, this is a case in point.
