Young gymnasts from the Forest of Dean Gymnastics Club won an amazing 13 medals at the Fromeside Invitational competition held in Bristol recently.

Competing on floor, vault and beam, the girls showed composure, confidence and excellent artistry throughout.

Six clubs entered from as far away as Cornwall, Wiltshire, the Cotswolds and Bristol.

In the morning, eight year old Eden Addis started the day off well by winning silver for her expressive floor routine. She then went on to win bronze overall.

It was gold all the way for nine year old Florence Eaton, who won two gold medals in the under 11 Level C group. Florence started by winning floor, with the highest floor score of the day, and was delighted to then win the overall gold.

In the under nine level B group, Molly Hughes also won the overall gold medal after winning gold on beam and bronze on floor.

Daisy Middleton beamed with delight as she took to the podium for the first of her three medals, a silver for her cheeky Charlestone type floor, a bronze for beam and then silver overall.

Joint bronze medals on vault for Mya Woodward and Ella Robinson boosted the medal tally and showed the all round depth of talent from the Forest of Dean Club.

Showing that hard work and focus pays off, Lily Bridges was delighted to win the bronze medal on beam. She showed great confidence in her first away competition.

Sophie Saunders, also competing in her first away competition, came fourth on floor in the under 12 Level C group. Hannah Roberts, Felicity Allen and Lola Newman completed the team in the under 11’s, and all performed well.

Support from the parents was evident in their rapturous applause for every Forest medallist.
