Weston Football Club has a proud history stretching back at least 100 years, it may even be 102 years as the exact date is not clear. It is one of the oldest formed teams in the league, and to celebrate there will be a reunion of all past players and managers at the Weston Cross Inn on Sunday, September 7th from 4pm. The Club hopes to find their oldest ex-manager or player. The early players at Weston Football Club did not cover themselves in glory and it was 20 years before they made a name for themselves while playing in the Ross League. They did reach the final of the Charity Bowl in 1923-24 but lost 6-1 to Hereford Thistle, (now Hereford United). Full story in this week's Gazette.
